A good letter

(The week before David sent this, my dad asked if David knew an Elder Black that an Elder in our ward knows, this was his response)

Dear family,

first off, HAPPY BIRTHDAY - Mom, Tina, Abuelito! Everything is going well here. To answer your question Dad... yes indeed I do know Elder Black. Actually, Everyone knows Elder Black. He is something of the apple of President Gelwix's eye... not that President picks favorites... it is just that Elder Black is really funny - and really big. He's actually a zone leader. Go figure.

I will attempt to get a picture with him this Wednesday at zone leader council. Oh... and Liz Wiseman is coming back! I am super psyched!

Anyway - I am on exchange today with Elder Smith - my beloved trainer - he is now serving as district leader here in Turlock.

Oh... something that was really cool this past week was performing a baptismal interview in Chinese. Literally. I had a translator and everything. It was for a 10 year old named Peter Moncur.

Agghhh... I'm not sure what else to write - and it's not that I don't DO anything - it's just that there is so much that we do that I can't really put it in to words. I'll just have to tell you about it in person.

I do indeed love you muchly. I love reading the Book of Mormon in Spanish. There are just nuances that are so super insightful. Anyway... I love you so much.

(A side letter from Jessie in which she asks who this Elder Black is and if David could possibly send us his Mission President's letters as well, so that we can hear a little more from him each week, which is why in the following letter we get sent the Mission President's letter as well.)

Jessica Ragsdale: So I was thinking...can you email us the email that you send to President Gelwix? That way we actually hear something about what you're doing... Then you can just explain it all later- or we can ask questions about it? Unless it's like some kind of mission faux-pas, but I don't think so...anyway, who is Elder Black?
